Conect to Sponsor Sydenham CRC in an Australian First for the sign industry

Conect Enterprises is pleased to announce it has provided a Metamark materials sponsorship to Sydenham Catholic Regional College for 2010.

Sydenham CRC who specialise in Catholic education for Year 11 and 12 students have set up an Australian First "Trade Training Centre" which will operate business units where students get to learn a practical trade in a real life business environment. Conect Enterprises in joint partnership with Metamark will be the major supplier of all signage materials to the school, such as digital media, sign vinyls and accessories, making a significant donation to kick of the 2010 school year.

Conect’s and Metamark’s contributions to the Catholic Regional College Trade Training Center cements a vital link between the school and the signage industry providing students with the very best opportunities says principal Brendan Watson. Addressing the skills shortage in Australia and providing all students with opportunities for their future can only be achieved when industry and schools work in partnership. This is a unique collaboration that will benefit hundreds of students over the next few years.

Paul Coniglio, Marketing Manager at Conect Enterprises is pleased to be supporting an outstanding initiative. The trade training centre will allow young people to understand more about our great industry and allow them to have the skills required should they wish to work in graphic design, sign writing, or digital printing as a career after they leave school says Paul. With technology making the industry more and more accessible, its an important next step to take signage and print education into secondary schools. This will assist with the shortage of qualified young people available when business owners need trained staff. It's great for our company to give something back to our industry.
