*Metamark MD-i-AB is a 70 micron polymeric calendered vinyl, with a grey pigmented adhesive to offer improved opacity, and prevent show through on surfaces with a strong base colour, or for covering previous graphics.. The ‘MetaScape’ adhesive system, offering ease of application by providing air with an exit route from under the graphic, makes for faster, trouble-free application. Ideal for medium term applications onto flat or simple curves including vehicle graphics. Suitable for printing with Solvent, Eco Solvent, Latex and UV inks.

MetaGuard MGi is the matched overlaminate to the Metamark MD-i series. The 70 micron polymeric film, with solvent adhesive, gives a high level of abrasion resistance and contains UV stabilisers.Overlaminates: Gloss - MGi005 or MG705 / Matt - MGi002 or MG702 / Satin - MG703

Printing and Handling:

  • Suitable for use on Solvent, Eco Solvent, Latex and U.V. inkjet printers. Always perform a test print first. 
  • Ensure that the correct profiles and heater settings are used. Most profiles are available for download from www.metamark.co.uk.
  • Ensure that the material has reached room temperature and a relative humidity of 50% before printing. 
  • Do not handle the face film directly and ensure it is free from dust and static.
Overlaminate:
  • Suitable for use on Solvent, Eco Solvent inkjet and Latex prints on Metamark print media. Not suitable for UV prints.
  • The product is matched to Metamark MD-i Series. The user should determine suitability of the overlaminate to other print media.
  • Allow the inks to cure before overlaminating, usually 24-48 hours. Failure to do so can cause delamination, tunnelling and shrinkage. 
  • Apply around 30°C on the top roller to prevent silvering of the adhesive.
  • Face Film: Polymeric Calendered PVC
  • Gauge: 70 micron nominal
  • Adhesive Type: Permanent solvent-based acrylic with UV inhibitors
  • Release Liner Print: ‘Metamark Digital Vinyl’ purple print 
  • Weight: 140 gsm nominal

  • External weathering: 5 years (unprinted - European conditions)

Overlaminating:

  • Overlamination is recommended to prevent abrasion and to extend colour fastness.
  • Allow the inks to cure before overlaminating, this is usually 24-48 hours.
  • The matched laminate for MD-i-AB is MetaGuard MGi. For all other laminates the user should determine suitability. 

Application:

  • Allow the inks to cure before cutting flush to the print, this is usually 24-48 hours.
  • Apply unstressed, in particular to curves and recesses. It is not suitable for application over rivets or complex recesses.
  • Suitable for wet application. Always apply dry into recesses, or where the print is cut flush, to ensure best adhesion.
  • Not recommended for use on low energy surfaces such as polypropylene. The user should determine suitability of substrate
